Book Fair

Calling all book lovers! Help bring the magic of two Scholastic book fairs to life — one in November and one in May. Sign up for a fun shift helping students pick out their new favorite reads, and lend a hand setting up and breaking down the fair.

Cultural Arts Assemblies & Cultural Project

Get ready to celebrate the world in one committee! We're on a mission to spark curiosity and pride in the many cultures, traditions, and backgrounds that make our school community so special — through dance, music, theatre, writing, art, photography, and storytelling. Volunteers get to dream up fun assembly ideas (with input from Mrs. Ryan and staff), coordinate the schedule, help with setup, and roll out the welcome mat for our amazing guest performers. On top of that, we'll pull together a school-wide showcase celebrating family traditions from around the globe — think of it as a giant, joyful cultural show-and-tell!

Fall Family Fun Festival

Our biggest fall bash is back! Help plan the games, entertainment, bake sale, and pizza sale for this fan-favorite October fundraiser, then rally the troops for setup and cleanup so everyone can enjoy the fun.

Field Day

Sunshine, games, and school spirit — Field Day has it all! Team up with the PE teacher to plan a jam-packed June of activities, round up volunteers to run the stations, and help with setup and cleanup for a day the kids won't forget.

Fourth Grade Stepping Up Celebration

Calling all 4th grade parents and guardians — help send our big kids off in style! Team up with the principal and teachers to plan a memorable "stepping up" to middle school celebration at the end of the year.

Guilford Lakes Glow Up Crew

This is the team that gives our school a little extra sparkle all year long, planting cheerful flowers around the building and creating bulletin boards that make kids stop and smile in the hallways. Think of it as a fun, low pressure way to add color and personality to our school. No design experience needed, just an eye for fun and a little time to spare. Great for parents who like creative, hands on projects with flexible scheduling.

Hospitality Team

Spread the love to our amazing teachers and staff! This team plans luncheons, treats, and thoughtful surprises throughout the year to show our faculty just how much they're appreciated.

Library Book Shelving

Calling all book organizers! Help keep our library neat, tidy, and ready for adventure by shelving books on a regular basis and lending a hand with special librarian projects. Watch our newsletters for sign-up times.

Parent Liaisons

Be the friendly face that helps a classroom run smoothly! Liaisons support teachers as needed, coordinate group gifts for the holidays and special occasions, and help pass along important PTO reminders to the class.

Police Appreciation Day and Firefighter Appreciation Day

Let's show our local heroes some love! Help organize thank-you cards, signs, and a tasty cookie and fruit platter to celebrate our police officers and firefighters on their special appreciation days.

Recycled Art Show

Trash to treasure! In honor of America Recycles Day, help students turn recyclables into awesome artwork. Volunteers set up the display, whip up certificates, and snap photos of all the creative masterpieces.

Red Ribbon Week

Get crafty for a healthy cause! During this October tradition promoting a drug-free lifestyle, 4th grade families team up to sew a fun, colorful banner for the school gym. Bonus points if you love to sew!

Science Fair

Calling all future scientists (and their helpers)! Volunteers bring this exciting event to life with two showcases — one for students and staff, one for families in the evening. Help spread the word, manage registrations, put together the program, order t-shirts, snap photos, and set up the big reveal in the gym.

Science Investigations

Ready to bring science to life in the classroom? The chair connects with our Science Investigations instructor, Kathy Brooks, a few times a year to train parent volunteers, who then get to lead fun, hands-on science lessons with the kids.

Slideshow

Got a knack for photos and a love of nostalgia? Put together a fun slideshow using photos from throughout the year to play on the TV screens in the foyer and cafeteria — and the best part, you can do it all from home!

Special Person Dance

Time to dance the night away! Help organize a magical school-wide dance where students bring a special grownup for a night of fun. Volunteers spread the word, line up refreshments, decorate the gym, and plan an evening to remember.

Spirit Wear

Show your school spirit! Help promote our awesome lineup of PTO apparel and merchandise on the website, social media, and at school events, and lend a hand managing inventory and getting orders into the right hands.

Square 1 Art

Turn kids' masterpieces into keepsakes! Help distribute art forms to teachers and coordinate student artwork getting printed onto jewelry, blankets, water bottles, key chains, magnets, and more — perfect for gift-giving! Volunteers sort and deliver the goodies once they arrive.

Staff Wellness Months

Let's keep our amazing staff happy and healthy! Plan a fun, feel-good activity each month — think walking challenges, hydration reminders, Fitness BINGO, and other self-care perks — to show our staff how much they matter.

Variety Show

Lights, camera, talent! Help students shine in a fun, non-competitive showcase of their skills and personalities. Volunteers reserve the venue, build the program, and plan an unforgettable evening for students and their families.

Yearbook

Capture the memories! Help assemble our school yearbook by tracking down great photo opportunities throughout the year, working with the school photographer, and pulling it all together into a keepsake distributed each June.
